The Seasons of the Overseers

Overview

People often ignore the fact that the seasons are very precarious. Delicate, in fact. To the public, its something that just happens. There is no controlling it, no mainting it. But a very select few know otherwise. The Season's Overseers, as some like to call them. Of course there have been many a rumor about them, whispers on the wind about a force able to control the very seasons the Earth goes through. The only problem being: What would happen when these powerful beings... Died? Disappeared?

This is something of a startling manner when it actually happens, with a huge storm somehow killing all of the Overseers. These humans had become immortal, and had not died for more than 3 centuries. As their reign finally comes to an end, who will be chosen after them? Who is worthy? The fates look down and see that the younger generation has promise, as the older ones have become cynical or logial in their ways. They need the whimsical look of a youth to restore order, and thus chooses who shall be chosen by these winds of fate. The details of being an Overseer are varied from each person, but the effects of being one are rapid.

Changes in appearence to match the theme of the season are definites. The Overseer gets the ability to control certain aspects of the season, with Winter harboring those who control ice or snow and Spring being life or plant growth. Autumn is more air related, whilst summer involves much more heat. It is not uncommon for there to be two Overseers for one season, but it is completely unheard of to have more than that to one season. Now, the task of the new Overseers is not as simple as even that description may seem. First, they must train themselves in defeating the Storms that have arrisen. After that, they must find this ''Storm Maker' and put an end to the chaotic weather that has been cursing the land.
